Habitat: Rice fields, and Lake Biwa, along the lakeshore and down to a depth of 4.6 m.
Mode of life: Benthic.
Reproduction mode: Asexual, males unknown.
Known distribution: Shiga Prefecture (Okubo 2004; Smith et al. 2011); Gumma Prefecture (Okubo & Ida 1989, as Ilyodromus smaragdinus); Okayama (Okubo 1990 as Ilyodromus smaragdinus).
