Genus Pseudocandona Kaufmann, 1900

Superfamily: Cypridoidea Baird, 1845
Family: Candonidae Kaufmann, 1900
Subfamily: Candoninae Kaufmann, 1900

Three species have been reported from Korea:

1. Pseudocandona choi (Karanovic & Lee, 2012)

Figures in: Karanovic & Lee 2012 (as Typhlocypris choi).
Habitat: Rivers (Karanovic & Lee 2012).
Mode of life: Interstitial.
Reproduction mode: Unknown. Only two adult female specimens known.
Known distribution: The Jijeong River, and Namhan River , Gangwondo. Currently only known from South Korea.

2. Pseudocandona morimotoi (McKenzie, 1972)

Habitat: Caves.
Mode of life: Benthic.
Reproduction mode: Sexual.
Known distribution: Yongdam-gul Cave, Yeongweol-gun. Currently only known from the type locality.

3. Pseudocandona pratensis (Hartwig, 1901)

Figures in: Meisch 2000; Karanovic 2013 (as Typhlocypris pratensis (Hartwig, 1901)).
Habitat: A river (Karanovic 2013). Elsewhere mainly found in temporary water bodies, but also ponds, lakes, rivers, brooks and springs (Meisch 2000)
Mode of life: Benthic.
Reproduction mode: In Korea unknown as only two females have been recovered. Elsewhere sexual (Meisch 2000).
Known distribution: Gangwon and Gyeongsangbuk Provinces (Karanovic 2013). Elsewhere known from Europe (Meisch 2000), and Japan (Tanaka et al. 2015).
Remarks: As no males were found, the Korean records need confirmation.
