Known distribution: Iwate Prefecture (Smith et al. 2024).
Remarks: This species is currently only known as a contaminant in the aquaria of pet shops in Japan. However, it is probably an alien species accidentally imported with plants or fish. Its origin is unknown, but possibly South East Asia.
