Habitat: In Japan, only known from aquaria.
Mode of life: Nektobenthic (swimmer).
Reproduction mode: Asexual, males unknown.
Known distribution: Kanagawa Prefecture (Smith et al. 2024). Elsewhere, South America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Suriname and Venezuela. Also recorded as an alien species in Germany (Ferreira et al. 2020).
Notes: This species is currently only known as a contaminant in the aquaria of a pet shop in Japan. It is an alien species accidentally imported with plants or fish, and originates from South America.
